Why Anxiety and Performance Anxiety Matter To Me Anxiety does not always look like someone who cannot function. Sometimes the people who appear strongest are carrying the most pressure internally. You may be successful. And you may still struggle with overthinking, perfectionism, fear of failure, self-doubt, or the belief that you constantly have to prove yourself. That is one reason I am passionate about working with individuals who experience anxiety and performance pressure. I understand that a person can be capable and still need support. From Division I Athletics to the Therapy Room That experience taught me discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and what it means to perform under pressure. It also gave me personal insight into the expectations athletes can carry. Performance can become connected to identity. Mistakes can feel bigger than they are. Confidence can change quickly. And athletes are often encouraged to simply push through whatever they are experiencing. Today, I bring both my clinical training and my lived understanding of competitive athletics into my work with athletes and high performers. I understand that you are more than your performance. |
My Professional Experience My Professional Experience I have worked in:
Working across different levels of care has given me experience supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional and behavioral health concerns. It also reinforced something I continue to believe: Every person deserves to be treated as a person—not simply as a diagnosis. Why I Founded Conquering Mountains Counseling Some mountains are anxiety. And sometimes the mountain is simply reaching a point where you know something needs to change. I wanted to create a practice where clients could feel supported while also receiving professional, evidence-based mental health treatment. A place where therapy could be compassionate without becoming passive. A place where people could develop practical tools while still having space to process their experiences. And for clients who desire it, a place where faith and mental health can exist together. My Faith & the Foundation of CMC My faith has shaped the way I understand compassion, service, identity, purpose, and healing. It has also shaped my desire to create a place where individuals can speak honestly about mental health without feeling as though struggling emotionally means they lack faith. For clients who desire Christian counseling, I can intentionally incorporate biblical principles, Scripture, prayer, and conversations about faith alongside evidence-based clinical treatment. For clients who do not want faith integrated into therapy, those preferences are respected. Learn More About Christian Counseling What Therapy With Me Feels Like I will listen to your story, help you identify patterns, challenge unhelpful thinking, teach practical skills, and work collaboratively with you toward your goals. I do not believe therapy should feel cold or clinical. But I also do not believe therapy should only provide temporary relief. My goal is for you to leave with greater insight, stronger coping skills, and a clearer understanding of how to move forward. What I Believe About the Therapeutic Relationship You should feel respected. And you should also feel that your therapist is willing to help you grow. I believe good therapy includes both compassion and accountability. Sometimes you may need support. My role is not to judge you. My role is to walk alongside you while helping you develop the tools and insight needed to make meaningful changes. My Credentials More Than a Diagnosis You are not your anxiety. Ready to Begin?
